AMTD establishes Anti-corruption Discipline Committee. Mr. Sin Yat-kin, formerly Commissioner of Correctional Services and AMTD Chief of Staff, is appointed as the chief inspector. HKICAC hosted the first training sessions for all AMTD Staff

AMTD recently announced the establishment of the Anti-corruption Discipline Committee, and appointed, Mr. Sin Yat-kin, the former Commissioner of Correctional Services of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and AMTD Chief of Staff, to serve as the chief inspector. The Anti-corruption Discipline Committee of AMTD is responsible for the establishment and improvement of AMTD’s internal anti-corruption work and discipline management system, reporting to the board of directors straightly, aiming to strengthen the education on the discipline of anti-corruption work among all employees, strengthening the company’s anti-corruption work culture, and continuously improving corporate governance structure, so as to establish the corporate culture connotation of justice, honest and virtue.

The Anti-corruption Discipline Committee of AMTD was headed by Mr. Sin Yat-kin, the former Commissioner of Correctional Services of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and AMTD Chief of Staff, as the first inspector. Mr. Sin Yat-kin has a high reputation in Hong Kong's political and business community. He has served as the Commissioner of Correctional Services of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Deputy Manager of the campaign office of Mrs Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor. He was awarded the "Silver Bauhinia Star" and "Hong Kong Correctional Services Distinguished Service Medals", “Hong Kong Correctional Services Long Service Medal”, “Chief Executive's Commendation for Public Service” and other honors issued by the Hong Kong SAR Government. Mr. Sin Yat-kin joined the Hong Kong Correctional Services Department since 1979 and has served in the Correctional Services Department in Hong Kong for nearly 37 years. He has made tremendous contributions to correctional profession which promotes anti-corruption and discipline in Hong Kong. Mr. Sin Yat-kin also participated in the co-hosting of the Hong Kong Equestrian Events for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. During this period, he performed outstandingly and was awarded the Chief Executive's Commendation for Public Service. Mr. Sin Yat-kin has joined AMTD since 2018 as Chief of Staff, responsible for the company's internal management and employees’ professional service and discipline.

At the very beginning of the establishment of the Anti-corruption Discipline Committee, Mr. Sin Yat-kin, the chief inspector, invited Senior Community Relations Officers of HKICAC, Mr. Watt Wai-yeung and Mrs.Chan Wing-sin, to visit AMTD and hold the first training session on anti-corruption discipline for all employees. Mr. Watt Wai-yeung, Senior Community Relations Officer of HKICAC, briefed the entire staff on the stringent requirements of the regulatory agencies and the ICAC regarding the integrity of financial professionals and encouraged them to “take the right path” and be professional, dedicated, honest, and humble. Mr. Watt Wai-yeung required them always “warn up the alarm” and always remind themselves that “do not make minor mistakes”.
