AMTD News | Mr. Yat-kin Sin Appointed as Justice of the Peace
Recently, Mr. Yat-kin Sin, Vice Chairman of AMTD Group, has been appointed by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government as a Justice of the Peace (JP), as a recognition for his work and contribution to the society through AMTD Group, AMTD Charity Foundation, and other non-profit / non-governmental organizations.
Mr. Yat-kin Sin sworn in to become Justice of the Peace
Mr. Yat-kin Sin has a long standing reputation in Hong Kong's political and business community. He has served as the Commissioner of Correctional Services of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and was awarded the "Silver Bauhinia Star", "Hong Kong Correctional Services Distinguished Service Medals", “Hong Kong Correctional Services Long Service Medal”, and “Chief Executive's Commendation for Public Service” award issued by the Hong Kong SAR Government. Mr. Yat-kin Sin joined the Hong Kong Correctional Services Department in 1979 and has served in the Correctional Services Department in Hong Kong for nearly 37 years. He has made tremendous contributions to the correctional services sector which promotes anti-corruption and discipline in Hong Kong. Mr. Yat-kin Sin also participated in the co-hosting of the Hong Kong Equestrian Events for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and was awarded the Chief Executive's Commendation for Public Service to recognise his outstanding services during that period. Subsequent to his retirement from the civil service, Mr. Yat-kin Sin has joined AMTD in 2018 as Chief of Staff and currently serving as Vice Chairman. He is responsible for the Group's internal affairs, and employees’ professional training and discipline. He is also a Director of AMTD Charity Foundation which supports education and social welfare activities both locally and in other parts of the world.
