Appointment of Lead Chairman for Hong Kong Youth Association
The Hong Kong Youth Association was established on May 4, 1995. Its mission is to embrace patriotism for our country China as well as our domicile city Hong Kong, uphold the principle of "one country, two systems", respect and abide by the Basic Law, safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests, and maintain Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability. The association aims to unite and lead young people from all walks of life to strengthen their ambition, backbone and confidence to be Chinese. It will shoulder the mission and responsibility entrusted to young people by the current times, devote itself to the development of youth, promote their all-round development, build communities, serve Hong Kong, contribute to our country, and strive to realize the Chinese dream of great national rejuvenation. The association will promote the values of science, democracy, peace, development, equity, justice and freedom, unleash the positive energy of youth, strengthen friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation with young people around the world, promote social progress, and jointly share a bright and beautiful future. In recent years, it has established "Taiwan Exchange Group of Young College Students from three places across the Taiwan Strait", "Hong Kong Outstanding Student Exchange Group", "Hong Kong Youth Diplomatic Summer Camp", "Hong Kong College Students Internship Group" and other brand activities to serve young people, contribute to society, and receive social attention and recognition.
In July this year, the 13th Board of Supervisors of the Hong Kong Youth Association was elected by the general assembly. The members are elites from all walks of life, and the members are widely supported by the HKSAR government, PRC central government and other Chinese institutions, charitable organizations, celebrities, affiliated organizations, and young people from all walks of life. The association has the honor to invite to its board Dr. Calvin Choi, Chairman of AMTD Group, Founder and Chairman of AMD Charity Foundation, Vice Chairman of the China Youth Entrepreneurs Association, Vice Chairman of the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation, and Honorary President of the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association, to become the Lead Chairman of its 13th Board of Supervisors.
As quoted in the public release by the Hong Kong Youth Association today, “Under the leadership of Dr. Choi, Hong Kong Youth Association will continue to fully support and assist Hong Kong youth to cultivate patriotism and love Hong Kong, find their own values and pursue their dreams. The association is confident that with the concerted efforts of all parties, Hong Kong Youth Association will build on the "U-Ladder" series of activities. We firmly believe that this platform will provide a platform for Hong Kong youth to upskill and grow, create opportunities, help them better grasp the opportunities, realize their dreams, achieve their own achievements, serve others, and become a link between Hong Kong and China's youth development, contributing to the society and our country."
